Intro to.... Our Media Group!
For my media group, I had decided to work in a group of 3: Me, Yazmin, and Lux. Me, Yaz, and Lux have all known each other for years, Yaz especially with this being our 11th year being friends! Me and Yaz have known eachother since preschool, where we had both attended Temple Beth-El, a Jewish preschool. This was rather ironic as Yazmin grew up in a Muslim household, and I in a Christian one. Regardless our parents had gotten along and we ended up attending the same elementary and middle school: Hollywood Academy of Arts and Science. And while me and Yaz have known eachother for so long, we especially had gotten close after yet again ending up in the same High School at Fort Lauderdale. Me and Yaz had both done Debate and do Public Forum together, which I explained in my previous blog to be a two on two debate based on current events. Yazmin and I also do Mock Trial together, where funny enough she is the attorney responsible for preparing my witness! My other partner, Lux, had also attended HAAS where we would meet in my 7th grade year. Me and Lux right off the bat had hit it off, our dynamic was one like no other, we felt like complete polar opposites yet it was because of our differences that we had clicked so well. Lux and I had taught eachother many things about seeing things from another perspective. Lux has become my best friend, and we still to this day have things to teach one another, but it feels as though theres no one who knows them better than I do, and no one who knows me better than them. Funny enough Yazmin and Lux are also good friends, so we all click and complete one another in a certain sense, so i'm excited to see how our trio dynamic will portray in future media projects to come! For a little clarity Yazmin's name is actually spelt "Yasmin", however it's pronounced with the Z so it's become a sort of inside joke between us to spell it with a Z(and even convince others that it's spelt that way!). Lux's legal is actually "Giulia" however they had preferred the name Lux as it had fit the person the truly felt to be more accurately, while encaptivating their love and infatuation with the stars and astrology. I love the name Lux, and I love the slight, yet significant letter change in Yaz's name. It seems as though one way or another Yazmin, Lux and I end up in each others lives, and I'll always be grateful for this fact and wish it remains to be the case for many years to come. I love my friends, and I love that I'm able to work with them on fun media projects like these. And with that I hope all those who read this feel as though they've yet again connect with this Highschooler's life and the people he grew up with.
I'll see you all in the next one:)
Lux, Yaz, and I at the end of our 8th and 9th grade years.
