a lot of.... Planning!

Props:  My group decided to film a music video with the song “a lot” by 21 Savage. So in order to maintain the conventions of traditional rap videos or parodies we watched while researching, we decided to include fake money, water guns, shovels, headphones, and plushies.  In the music video, we are planning on having a montage of skits that correlate to the lyrics of the song, as a majority of the lyrics in the timeframe we chose has a series of questions that are all responded with “a lot”. So throughout the video in order to better fulfill the skit, we’ll include props such as fake money, a water gun, a shovel, headphones, plushies, a math worksheet, and a car.  Costume: Our music video will primarily feature two high school “gangsters”, so the costumes will need to represent street thug attire. To obtain this, the actors will be wearing hats with sunglasses and a chain. Sneakers will also be worn by the actors to further the casual look. For our costumes, we chose to be gangsters. W

a lot of.... Research!

For our music video, we chose the song A Lot by 21 Savage which is a rap song. We looked through many songs on Spotify and found that 21 Savage was our best option. After we found our song, we researched many music videos to try and come up with something we could make. In these music videos, usually, there are many different shots of the singer in different places singing their song. Every place they go to they have a different outfit and are with different people. In 21 Savage music videos, his costumes are usually simple suits or streetwear fits. The conventions in rap songs are usually the performer rapping towards the camera like they are talking to the audience. A lot of time they shoot these shots at a low angle. A lot of rap music videos are also known to be narrative-heavy and usually have a part where the rapper is lip-syncing. For example, we looked at Eminem's music video "Lose Yourself" and saw that half the time Eminem is lip-syncing the lyrics and the other

Intro to... Lauren!

For this music video, I chose to work with one of my best friends, Lauren and we chose to do the song “a lot” by 21 Savage. We chose “a lot” because we thought it’d be fun and funny to do a rap music video together, though some of the songs we originally had in mind was Maroon 5’s “This Love”, and Paramour’s “Still Into You”. However we decided to go with a lot because it had a perfect 1:10 timeframe where it doesn’t feel choppy or cut short. As for Lauren, I met at the start of Sophomore year in debate, and from the first day we had hit it off really well. I connected really well with Lauren and honestly she means the world to me. I found it really cute that we had a lot of similarities, for one we had opposite birthdays, where she’s born on 6/1/07 and I was born on 01/06/07. Along with that I really love that I’m a Debate kid and she’s a Speech kid, and it resulted in us both learning a little more about the other aspects of Speech and Debate. And we even live pretty close to

Refresher on... Me!

Hi, I'm still Andres Santana, a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High. For this blog I'll be yet again introducing the readers to their lovely writer and talking a little about myself before I get into the project based content blogs. Some of my favorite past times are playing Minecraft with friends, listening to music and pretty much anything I can do with a friend. I grew up in a hispanic household, raised by my Argentinian mom and Colombian dad. Because of them I can fluently speak Spanish, and have been able to take Spanish classes for the past 4 years and have been able to refine the grammatical kinks in my speaking. Along with AICE Spanish and AICE Media, I take AICE European History, Debate, Pre-Calculus, AICE English, and Executive Internship. In Exec, I'm able to be simulated in a real court setting, planning for trials, preparing witnesses for direct and cross examinations, and learning the Federal Rules of Evidence for objections to make in trial. We even get to h

Intro to... CCR

Image
While throughout this blog we've explained our personal experiences, heres a bit of insider from a technical perspective, using a fancy term known as "CCR" 1- Our advertisement possibly goes against standard conventions, as it doesn’t include an animated closeup of the specific gum at the end of the commercial as traditional advertisements our group had analyzed include. Instead, we include a close-up shot of the pack of gum which we physically recorded ourselves by hand, in order to maintain the persistent flow of the ads. We do, however, also feature several elements that are typical of the typical gum commercial. One being the bonding of a social group or pair together which frequently appears in these advertisings. They symbolize the universal problem of encountering barriers when socializing and offer a solution through the gum, allowing the gum to stand in for a common ground that all parties may bond over. We incorporated this concept into our commercial by dem
