Intro to... Lauren!

     For this music video, I chose to work with one of my best friends, Lauren and we chose to do the song “a lot” by 21 Savage. We chose “a lot” because we thought it’d be fun and funny to do a rap music video together, though some of the songs we originally had in mind was Maroon 5’s “This Love”, and Paramour’s “Still Into You”. However we decided to go with a lot because it had a perfect 1:10 timeframe where it doesn’t feel choppy or cut short. As for Lauren, I met at the start of Sophomore year in debate, and from the first day we had hit it off really well. I connected really well with Lauren and honestly she means the world to me. I found it really cute that we had a lot of similarities, for one we had opposite birthdays, where she’s born on 6/1/07 and I was born on 01/06/07. Along with that I really love that I’m a Debate kid and she’s a Speech kid, and it resulted in us both learning a little more about the other aspects of Speech and Debate. And we even live pretty close to each other, which was surprising given that we both live relatively far from our High School. But aside from school I just love the person she is. Me and Lauren just have a dynamic that I can’t describe but wouldn’t give up for anything in the world. She had transferred from another School in her 2nd year of highschool which is unusual, but yet still happened and it’s the reason we’re friends today. Funny enough, even to work on this project we had to have been in the same class period, which meant we wouldn’t have been able to work together because I had Media 5th period and she had it 2nd period. However, I had my schedule switched around and it resulted in a few of my class orders switched, resulting in my 2nd period now being Media. To start this blog I had gone back to our text messages to find out when we had actually met and it was only just over 2 months since we had met for the first time. When I saw this I was honestly surprised, because it was insane to me that in just 2 months someone could mean so much to me and be so important in my life, I mean it feels like everything I do, I do with Lauren by my side. We hangout after school all the time and I even go home with her where my mom picks me up from her house because it just ends up being so convenient with how close she lives to me. I remember we bonded because we would stay up all the time playing Minecraft together, and we would group listen together and be able to play songs and listen to them at the same time, even if we weren’t together. Given that a lot of our friend group right now is current Seniors, after this year we’ll be the ones left behind and I was honestly really scared of that. But with Lauren I'm more accepting of that reality because I’ll still have her. I love Lauren, and it’s with her that I wish we get to be best friends as Seniors together because honestly there’s no one better I could possibly ask for.
