Intro to... Ad Research!

Image
As a group, Lux, Yaz and I chose to advertise EXTRA gum. However, before beginning the filming, or even the brainstorming process, we had to figure out what gum commercials typically entail. To do this, we decided to watch some gum commercials to get an idea of what we want to do for our commercial. Interestingly, we found that each commercial portrayed a theme of community. The first commercial we watched featured a team of baseball players siting in the locker room after a long, tiring game. They were all feeling defeated as they had lost, but one player took out a pack of gum. The gum was passed around, and the players' moods began to change. This gum was able to bring the team back together after a defeating loss, strengthening their bond. This theme of community was most obviously shown through the editing techniques used. The directors used a cutaway shot to cut away from the main scene of the teams defeat to the pack of gum. Showcasing the product and making it apparent

Intro to.... Our Media Group!

For my media group, I had decided to work in a group of 3: Me, Yazmin, and Lux. Me, Yaz, and Lux have all known each other for years, Yaz especially with this being our 11th year being friends! Me and Yaz have known eachother since preschool, where we had both attended Temple Beth-El, a Jewish preschool. This was rather ironic as Yazmin grew up in a Muslim household, and I in a Christian one. Regardless our parents had gotten along and we ended up attending the same elementary and middle school: Hollywood Academy of Arts and Science. And while me and Yaz have known eachother for so long, we especially had gotten close after yet again ending up in the same High School at Fort Lauderdale. Me and Yaz had both done Debate and do Public Forum together, which I explained in my previous blog to be a two on two debate based on current events. Yazmin and I also do Mock Trial together, where funny enough she is the attorney responsible for preparing my witness! My other partner, Lux, had a

Welcome to... Me!

Hi, I'm Andres Santana, a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High. For this blog I'll be introducing the readers to the writer and talking a little about myself before I get into the project based content blogs. Some of my favorite past times are playing  Minecraft with friends, listening to music and pretty much anything I can do with a friend. I grew up in a hispanic household, raised by my Argentinian mom and Colombian dad. Because of them I can fluently speak spanish, and have been able to take Spanish classes for the past 4 years and have been able to refine the grammatical kinks in my speaking. Along with AICE Spanish and AICE Media, I take AICE European History, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, AICE English, and Executive Internship. In Exec, I'm able to be simulated in a real court setting, planning for trials, preparing witnesses for direct and cross examinations, and learning the Federal Rules of Evidence for objections to make in trial. We even get to have the class in a
