Welcome to... Me!

Hi, I'm Andres Santana, a sophomore at Fort Lauderdale High. For this blog I'll be introducing the readers to the writer and talking a little about myself before I get into the project based content blogs. Some of my favorite past times are playing Minecraft with friends, listening to music and pretty much anything I can do with a friend. I grew up in a hispanic household, raised by my Argentinian mom and Colombian dad. Because of them I can fluently speak spanish, and have been able to take Spanish classes for the past 4 years and have been able to refine the grammatical kinks in my speaking. Along with AICE Spanish and AICE Media, I take AICE European History, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, AICE English, and Executive Internship. In Exec, I'm able to be simulated in a real court setting, planning for trials, preparing witnesses for direct and cross examinations, and learning the Federal Rules of Evidence for objections to make in trial. We even get to have the class in a recreation of an actual courtroom at Fort Lauderdale! Along with Mock Trial, i'm also in the Debate. In Debate, I specifically do the Public Forum event, in which 2 players will compete against 2 other players on topic based on current events. Debate is a fun activity to do, mainly because of the people I've made friends with. In Debate I have my friends Mia, Balkis, Sarah, Oscar, Lauren, and as of now some of the 1st year Novice Debaters have been fun to hang around. But aside from school, some of my favorite shows are two animes I was introduced to: Death Note, and Attack on Titan. Before watching those shows, I was actually opposed to Anime. I thought it was nerdy and corny, but I gave it a shot and I was really enticed. I love the way the plot was developed, and the inclusion of mystical aspects in serious circumstances in ways that simply fail on execution with live action shows. And along with Court, Debating, and Animes, above it all is my beloved Mushi. Mushi was my pet cat that I found in my mom's old work. Mushi was at most 2 months old when we found him and he was so malnourished that you could feel his spine and rib cage if you softly caressed your finger on his back. We took him home, and had nursed him back to health, and now he's my absolute best friend. Out of everyone in the house he connects most with me, he knows when im tired or sad and will lay right by me until I either fall asleep or feel better, and every night he will literally knock on my door by slamming his paw on my door handle for me to open, and we sleep every night together on my bed, where he'll purr himself to sleep. And with that I hope that to all those who read feel that they have a little more of an understanding of the High School student responsible for these 20+ sentences you the reader gets to enjoy.

I'll see you all in the next one:)
