Upgrades people, Upgrades!

     Like any good project, the proper tools are needed to effectively get the job done. In this case, I thought to myself what I could use to better enhance my project. I realized that something that could really separate my group from other candidates would be a tripod. With a tripod we could effectively have more clear, still shots. I decided to find myself a tripod and so I went on Amazon, and sure enough a really nice tripod was available for about fifteen dollars. I told my parents about it, ordered it and it arrived yesterday night. This was perfect as on Saturday i'll be meeting up with Franshesca to record scenes so this will greatly help us. The tripod extends up to four and half feet high and can go in all directions while still remaining in place. It also comes with remote control, which can connect to the user's iphone and digitally start and stop recording with just the click of a button. Franshesca is our designated cameragirl, so this will greatly help her execute her vision properly. I was excited that my tripod had arrived so today I decided to take it for a test drive and bring it to the beach with me and my friends. I used it to take pictures and record time-lapses. I also used it to record videos of us having fun and playing volleyball together. It's very easy to use but greatly increases the overall quality of our recordings. It's also very portable as it all folds up into a small slender bag that can be brought pretty much anywhere. I can't wait to see it in use for our Media project on Saturday, which hopefully will be a productive day. That's all for now, so I'll update everyone on how things turn out and how much this new tripod well help us out in the future!

    Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!. I am continuing to research short films and their conventions. I am reviewing short films that follow my genre to learn about conventions I would need to use for my short film. As the genre I am using is mystery, I am going to be watching mystery short films. In this blog I am going to research the mystery short film, “Buried Treasure”. I was able to find this short film option on YouTube.       When the film opens, the music is the first thing once again that I notice. This music is different though from the last movie I reviewed. The difference was that this music got louder progressively as the opening of the short film continued. The lighting is the same though. I notice the dark lighting. The dark lighting creates a very deep shadow and puts spotlights on certain aspects. This goes back to the point convention I’ve noticed in mystery films which is having the audience very focused on the little details....

Say hello to my little friends!

 Welcome back! In todays blog I plan to introduce you to the next 3 members you'll hear about till the end of our journey on this project, so lets get into it! For this project I realized that it would be our most ambitious one yet, so I decided to work with 4 people instead of 2 or 3. For those of you who've read my previous blogs, you'll remember Lauren, as she worked with me on my previous project too. Lauren and I worked exceptionally well together, so we decided to keep the ball rolling and tackle this on too. We could not do it alone however, so we added 2 new additions to our team, Franshesca and Isa. Starting with Isa, she's also on the debate team and is good friends with Lauren and I, so given that we all shared the same Media period together and already had good chemistry, she'll be a great pick for our team. New Word: Plan

  And the planning begins! Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! The last time you read I was researching for my short film. My group and I were doing things like comparing short films to its feature film version, looking at conventions of short films in our genre we chose (mystery), and etc. Now that my group and I have done the research it’s finally the time to start planning for our short film. So, in this blog, I wanted to talk to you guys about the ideas our group came up with when it comes to the scheduling, location, backup plans, and etc, for our film! Schedule So, for the schedule of our movie, we want to have it completely done and submitted by March 13th. By, this date we will have all of our marketing, editing, and filming done.
