New Word: Updates

     Welcome back everyone! It's been quiet a while since the last time we spoke, and there's a few changes since, so lets catch you all up to speed. "Santa" is still a nickname i hear on a daily basis, and still a name I've grown to love more and more. I still do Debate, now being the captain of my event, Public Forum, though I'm not active in Mock Trial anymore, I leave that to my friend Yaz, who those who read my first blogs know she's one of my best friends for over 13 years. Funny enough Yaz is also the Mock Trial captain, and my group mate for this project but i'll go more into that in my next blog. Mr. Kulawik is still our coach and he's still working just as hard to make sure the team is successful. It's only the start of the Debate season, but I've already been a Semifinalist at a tournament in the National Circuit, so I'm hopeful about achieving my goal of getting 1st at one of these high level tournaments. I'm now a Junior in my 3rd year of Debate, and my 2nd year of AICE Media. I'm really excited for this next project as for my last Media project i had purchased a tripod to film steady shots, and I can use it here now too! I also recently purchased a PC, which was pretty expensive so I had worked all Summer and was able to buy it for myself. With this PC I love to get my schoolwork done and play video games with my friends. I've had the same group of boys that I've been happily playing video games with since the 7th grade. In the 5 years we've all played were yet to argue or stop being friends despite now all attending different schools. It's a lot of fun being able to have that level of consistency in your life. But aside from video games, this PC will also be very beneficial in helping edit and hold all the shots we take for our movie, as that was a big problem I would deal with for my last projects. I'm excited to see what our group will come up with, as Media and Debate are my two favorite courses because they're where I have the most fun. Until then i'll be sure to keep you all updated.     Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!. I am continuing to research short films and their conventions. I am reviewing short films that follow my genre to learn about conventions I would need to use for my short film. As the genre I am using is mystery, I am going to be watching mystery short films. In this blog I am going to research the mystery short film, “Buried Treasure”. I was able to find this short film option on YouTube.       When the film opens, the music is the first thing once again that I notice. This music is different though from the last movie I reviewed. The difference was that this music got louder progressively as the opening of the short film continued. The lighting is the same though. I notice the dark lighting. The dark lighting creates a very deep shadow and puts spotlights on certain aspects. This goes back to the point convention I’ve noticed in mystery films which is having the audience very focused on the little details....

Say hello to my little friends!

 Welcome back! In todays blog I plan to introduce you to the next 3 members you'll hear about till the end of our journey on this project, so lets get into it! For this project I realized that it would be our most ambitious one yet, so I decided to work with 4 people instead of 2 or 3. For those of you who've read my previous blogs, you'll remember Lauren, as she worked with me on my previous project too. Lauren and I worked exceptionally well together, so we decided to keep the ball rolling and tackle this on too. We could not do it alone however, so we added 2 new additions to our team, Franshesca and Isa. Starting with Isa, she's also on the debate team and is good friends with Lauren and I, so given that we all shared the same Media period together and already had good chemistry, she'll be a great pick for our team. New Word: Plan

  And the planning begins! Hey guys and welcome back to my blog! The last time you read I was researching for my short film. My group and I were doing things like comparing short films to its feature film version, looking at conventions of short films in our genre we chose (mystery), and etc. Now that my group and I have done the research it’s finally the time to start planning for our short film. So, in this blog, I wanted to talk to you guys about the ideas our group came up with when it comes to the scheduling, location, backup plans, and etc, for our film! Schedule So, for the schedule of our movie, we want to have it completely done and submitted by March 13th. By, this date we will have all of our marketing, editing, and filming done. So, our group decided to start filming around mid February. By filming in mid February, this will allow our group leniency.
