Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! My group and I spent some time ironing out the details of our film, and now our story board is ready. I hope you enjoy what we have planned.
Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!. I am continuing to research short films and their conventions. I am reviewing short films that follow my genre to learn about conventions I would need to use for my short film. As the genre I am using is mystery, I am going to be watching mystery short films. In this blog I am going to research the mystery short film, “Buried Treasure”. I was able to find this short film option on YouTube. When the film opens, the music is the first thing once again that I notice. This music is different though from the last movie I reviewed. The difference was that this music got louder progressively as the opening of the short film continued. The lighting is the same though. I notice the dark lighting. The dark lighting creates a very deep shadow and puts spotlights on certain aspects. This goes back to the point convention I’ve noticed in mystery films which is having the audience very focused on the little details....
For the next title research blog, we watched the opening sequence to the movie "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". There was a total of 30 titles shown in the two minutes and thirty five seconds of the opening scene. Each title had the same silver font and moved slightly, swiftly horizontally before disappearing. The titles then move on to other production related features, like who the music is by, costume designer, sound designer, editors, etc. Finally, the sequence ends with, "Directed by: David Fincher". I did find it strange that the director was featured twice, once in the beginning and the end. Some of the sequences follow a linear development th...
Welcome back everyone, today we have a problem. As you were previously told we were set to record everything at my house this week. We were set to uber there and would film everything we needed to and begin the last stage of editing before we had finally finished this project. Until about 2 days ago, when I had felt myself throwing up, with 104 degree fevers, and unable to get myself out of bed. As if we didn't already have enough logistical problems ahead of us, I had fallen sick with BOTH types of Influenza, because just one wasn't enough. This unfortunately set us back about a week for production. This was incredibly unfortunate because as badly as we wanted to film, safety is our number one priority and we couldn't risk getting anyone in KAMY studios sick, even if it was too late for me. Our new date for filming will be in the first week of March, giving me plenty of time to recover and still keeping pace with our deadlines. I've already explained before that our g...
