Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!. I am continuing to research short films and their conventions. I am reviewing short films that follow my genre to learn about conventions I would need to use for my short film. As the genre I am using is mystery, I am going to be watching mystery short films. In this blog I am going to research the mystery short film, “Buried Treasure”. I was able to find this short film option on YouTube. When the film opens, the music is the first thing once again that I notice. This music is different though from the last movie I reviewed. The difference was that this music got louder progressively as the opening of the short film continued. The lighting is the same though. I notice the dark lighting. The dark lighting creates a very deep shadow and puts spotlights on certain aspects. This goes back to the point convention I’ve noticed in mystery films which is having the audience very focused on the little details....
Welcome back everyone, today we have a problem. As you were previously told we were set to record everything at my house this week. We were set to uber there and would film everything we needed to and begin the last stage of editing before we had finally finished this project. Until about 2 days ago, when I had felt myself throwing up, with 104 degree fevers, and unable to get myself out of bed. This unfortunately set us back about a week for production. This was incredibly unfortunate because as badly as we wanted to film, safety is our number one priority and we couldn't risk getting anyone in KAMY studios sick, even if it was too late for me. Our new date for filming will be in the first week of March, giving me plenty of time to recover and still keeping pace with our deadlines. I've already explained before that our g...
Now after shooting what we had needed, came a very vital part: the editing process. The way our group settled it, there were 3 important parts: the first 3 scenes, the last 3 scenes, and the music meant to play across it all. The first 3 scenes are important but not grouped with the last 3 as these 3 scenes display the awkwardness we went for being portrayed (for the record the scenes i am referring to are those of the storyboard). The last 3 scenes similarly yet in an opposite sense at the same time are important individual aspect because they portray the happiness and uniting portion of our advertisement. Finally, the music chosen throughout the advertisement is essential because as this advertisement has no dialect, the soundtrack selected will be what is used to demonstrate tone and shifts in moods audibly. To distribute the work we had decided Yaz will be in charge of the soundtrack, Lux will be assigned with the first 3 scenes, and I shall be tasked with the f...
