Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!. I am continuing to research short films and their conventions. I am reviewing short films that follow my genre to learn about conventions I would need to use for my short film. As the genre I am using is mystery, I am going to be watching mystery short films. In this blog I am going to research the mystery short film, “Buried Treasure”. I was able to find this short film option on YouTube. When the film opens, the music is the first thing once again that I notice. This music is different though from the last movie I reviewed. The difference was that this music got louder progressively as the opening of the short film continued. The lighting is the same though. I notice the dark lighting. The dark lighting creates a very deep shadow and puts spotlights on certain aspects. This goes back to the point convention I’ve noticed in mystery films which is having the audience very focused on the little details....
Welcome back everyone, today we have a problem. As you were previously told we were set to record everything at my house this week. We were set to uber there and would film everything we needed to and begin the last stage of editing before we had finally finished this project. This was incredibly unfortunate because as badly as we wanted to film, safety is our number one priority and we couldn't risk getting anyone in KAMY studios sick, even if it was too late for me. Our new date for filming will be in the first week of March, giving me plenty of time to recover and still keeping pace with our deadlines. I've already explained before that our g...

The first commercial we watched featured a team of baseball players siting in the locker room after a long, tiring game. They were all feeling defeated as they had lost, but one player took out a pack of gum. The gum was passed around, and the players' moods began to change. This gum was able to bring the team back together after a defeating loss, strengthening their bond. This theme of community was most obviously shown through the editing techniques used. The directors used a cutaway shot to cut away from the main scene of the teams defeat to the pack of gum. Showcasing the product and making i...
